Our Organization has been very busy in the Montello area.
We have become a united voice, recognized by the city as the only organization representing the interests of businesses in Montello and the North West area of Brockton.
Public and private organizations are reaching out to us as the reps of our area. We are incorporated with both Federal and State governments.
Over the past year we have worked closely with the Brockton Police Dept through the Business Watch program, reporting suspicious activities in the area, as well we have been using the City’s Task Force (through the Mayor’s Office) to address abandoned buildings, junk cars and any other detractions to the area.
We have formed a relationship with the City Planners Office to have tree’s planted along N Main St and other Montello areas as part of out attempt to help beautify the area, and our members have cleaned up the area of Snow Clock including planting flowers and other plantings in the area.
We have a great relationship with the Downtown Brockton Association and this year we co-sponsored the Downtown Holiday Parade. Working with other business associations gives us a larger voice when addressing business concerns with the city.
As well, we have worked with the 21 Century Corporation and its Main Street Program and the Metro South Chamber of Commerce.
We also enjoy the regular presence of
a number of our City Councilors at our Monthly meetings.
Ward 7 City Councilor Chris MacMillan attends our meetings
as well as At-Large Councilors Linda Balzotti,
Todd Petti, Robert Sullivan and Tom Brophy. All
there to offer advice and give us any updates
with in the city effecting Montello, and all are always available for questions.
This is just a brief note about what we have been doing, there is more to tell.
