President Scott read minutes of the last meeting and the financial report. Derek Salamone Brockton Police attempt to address panhandlers. Mention commercial trucks on side streets. Walmart allows trucks to park overnight. Street contractors are being cooperative and considerate. Ames and Spark St. corner becoming junk yard. (zoned Industrial). Councilor Jack Lally addressed water pipe replacement. Repaving to follow. City bonded the job out. Next meeting DPW Pat Hill Commissioner is anticipated to attend next meeting. Road work two phases this year. TL Edwards contractor used when able due to reputable work. Public notice questioned for detours. Hartley's Jamaican Restaurant opened Greg Belcher thanked Jack Lally and the Mayor and all public officials for attending. Greg Belcher thanked Fran Fistori for investing and building a new phase of operation at Modern Autobody.
Medical urgent care centers now open said Councilor Lally. Jim Stapleton and Amanda Gomez of South Middle School talked about a fundraiser and Gala for student council and special needs on June 10th at Ann's Palace 277 Main St. Brockton, Ma. Harborone Montello branch closure. Howard School fire station proposal questioned. Brockton History Museum mentioned Keep Brockton Beautiful Day May 6th proposing Snow Clock and Battles Park flower planting. Code Enforcement Task Force on Tuesdays will inspect 5 or 6 places, ordinances will be fixed to give task force power per Deputy Chief Ed Williams. Contractor space concept now 150 East Ashland St. Councilor Lally said It's a good thing bringing in taxes. He also said 40 bays secure, gated, maintained. Hotel questioned at Westgate Mall nears Shields MRI for 96 units. Tourism Tax from hotels questioned regarding where is the money going? Rob May said it goes into the general fund. Scott made motion to adjourn seconded Fran Fistori meeting ended at 7:03 P.M.
